I have worn out two Supermatic II's and as I was searching for the best price on a replacement, I found the Supermatic.(I had always assumed that the Supermatic II was a better replacement model of a previous model but I was wrong.It is a cheaper version of the better original model.)
If you are trying to decide between the Supermatic or the Supermatic II , my advice is to spend the few more dollars for the superior Supermatic.It's all-metal case is a vast improvement over the flexibility of the Supermatic II's plastic case.
The unit I received has a newly improved plastic cutter that is designed (so the manufacturer states) to last longer than the old aluminum cutter.I have not been using this unit for long enough to test that but I am very impressed with how easy it is to operate this unit as compared to the Supermatic II.I think this is because of the rigidity of the metal case combined with the slipperiness of the plastic cutter.
If you are looking at machines for making your own cigarettes, stay away from the cheaper models and go with the Supermatic.(I haven't been able to justify the exceptional expense of the good electric machines so I don't know how well they work.)This unit is a gem and making your own cigarettes is much less of a chore when you use the Supermatic.
