(More customer reviews)The main thing to know about doing at home electrolysis is to start out on a low setting. Most people will scar for long periods of time if you go over a 5.I keep mine set to a 3 or 4 and I have super thick hairs.I made the mistake of starting out on an a 7 and 8 in some areas and am still healing 6 months later, luckily it was an area that can be hidden by clothing. Also, under no circumstance should you go over a 4 on the face, usually stay between a 2 and 3 for the face.
Other tips are to buy lots of extra stylet tips.If the tip bends its no good and you'll need another one.
Replace the battery often. The device is most effective with a well charged battery.
Sometimes if the hair is really thick you'll have to hold the stylet tip in for up to 1 minute.Turning the stylet tip and moving it up and down can help.
You might need to do several treatments if the hair is really thick, so don't feel discouraged. It took me a while to get used to using the product but I'm starting to get the hang of it and it is working. You just need to have patients and a lot of time.
And last but not least, it really doesn't hurt.It might sting slightly but it's not painful.
