(More customer reviews)I think if you were well-practiced and nimble-fingered, you could separate your capsules, load them in this machine, fill them, and close them in about 5 minutes.To do this you would be working very quickly, like an assembly-line worker, and it doesn't account for clean-up time afterward.So yes, it can be done pretty quickly (much faster than individual capsules by hand) but the 2-minute claim is nonsense.But given how cheap this little machine is, it works great.

If you don't want to end up wasting too much product - especially very fine powdered material - you'll need to be careful and think things through.I do my capsule filling on a big cookie sheet.After the capsules are closed, I tap them individually on the sheet to let loose powder fall off.No matter how careful you are, the machine itself and tamper will have a fair amount of powder stuck on them, which you'll need to carefully tap off onto the cookie sheet, then collect at the corner.Don't sneeze!You will inevitably waste a tiny amount of product, because the only way to get some of it off is to run the machine under a faucet (unless you want to spend half an hour scraping with a dental pick or something).For this reason it's best to do many batches in a single sitting, so you only waste what's sticking after the final batch.

Once the machine finishes the capsules, they look like they're not quite full, about 10% empty space at the top...this is because the capsule halves can still be pushed together by several millimeters.This is very easy and quick to do between your thumb and finger, and the capsules will be tightly shut and appear "full."I think the machine is purposely designed to not quite shut the capsules 100%, as a safeguard against really cheap/weak capsules bursting.

Size 0 capsules should end up around 600-850 milligrams, depending on density of the substance.It's not really feasible to only "half fill" the capsules with this machine.If you want less than the full capsule, you'll need to use a filler (like corn starch or powdered sugar) and do the appropriate math so you know how much to mix in with your substance.

This is pretty much the only game in town, as far as cheap capsule fillers - the only other is the Cap'm Quick machine which is extremely similar, only it does 50 at a time instead of 24, and charges you extra for a tamper.This includes a tamper, so it's probably the better choice for most people.
